my roomate had similar trouble. he hit the adjacent car while backing his car in a parking lot. somehow, he did not realize that and left. somebody reported to the car owner and the police. my roomate knew about it one week later. and paid the money to fix that guy's car. he knew that police will never do anything to this accident since vechine in parking lot is only private property. but the police report is already there. my roomate is so anxious that he even want to go back to china in his opt. he think he has a crime record and will have bigger trouble to apply for H1 and GC. can anybody give him any advice?
