Un-employment benefits and own business

Hello everyone, anyone knows this? While applying for un-employment benefits with the state EDD, can I also open my own business, a LLC? Will this dis-qualtify receiving checks from EDD? This will be my first time to apply for benefit after 15 years on the job. it won't hurt eventhough it's quite a small check, any money counts these days.
