Only some contracts have to be written down to a piece of paper such as real estate related. You cannot argue your contract is not a real contract because it is all verbal. When you say that, yor are admitting there was a contract. As long as there was a meeting of minds and consideration for each other, there was a contract. For example, your e-mail exchanges may prove just that.
