YOu could choose to get rid of the washer and drier--thye are worth $1000. so you lose $1000. The lawyer, if he is willing, pays half of that.
The fact that you closed the deal after you knew they were not installed, meant you did not care that much about it. Maybe the former owner was using it they way he told you--move it to a hose. In that case, the washer was in good working condition. I think you should get over it and be happy that you bought a new condo and enjoy it. Or you can spend endless time and enery fighing someone, loosing sleep, be angery, not enjoy your new place. it is not worth it..
