老貓, please help !! question about fax/hand delivery

I'm in Virginia and I need to deliver a document to a real estate agent locally by COB today 10/28/08. Just faxed the document over to her office fax#. My question is:

1. Does Fax consider a acceptable delivery method at court (VA) ?
2. If not, is hand delivery the only option at this case?
3. How hand delivery work? Just ask receptionist sign on the package and date it? Again, just want to make sure it's acceptable at court of law.

May have to take a day off and drive 120 miles for hand delivery.
