My suggestion:
1). go checking your offer letter very carefully, and find out (1) the terminal data (2)....fund availibilty
2). talk to your boss friendly, and get a better understanding the siutation. e.g. (1) if your boss really has a fund problem, is that only a short-term problem (e.g. waiting for new funds) ? (2) how's your boss feeling about your performance/skills/ability/ personality? Honestly, if he/she did not happy/satisfy your performace, sorry, you were fired, and you have to find another job.But still, you can argue with your boss why he/she do not let you know the situation earlier so that you have more time to figure out the siutation (like searcha new position) ?
