Probably not! (Most Chinese people are more racist than majority of white people. Black is the most racist than anybody else combine.) We are not prejudice when the matter has nothing to do with me. Your post is motivated by racial factors.

Lets go back to the topics:
If I were you, I will just proceed with the contract and see how it develops. I have experiences rent houses for the last 5 years. Credit does not mean much to me about a tenant. I dont check credit. My eviction rate is under 5%. You want to judge a person by its state of mind not by his history.

My suggestion is wait and see. If he is good, you dont need to ask more questions. If he is bad, get rid of him and learn from it.
