I would rather to pay the carpet replacement cost now. But the problem is property management company charged tenant's deposit for it and now the tenant sued me. I need to deal with this law suit now. My main questions is what I should do to cover some of my cost. Because there is definitely a lot of mistakes by this property management company. But the tenants sued me, not them. And I should not penalized by their mistake, right?
