Medicare and Emergency Medicaid are TOTALLY different things.

One can apply for Emergency Medicaid only in an emergency event. Medicare has age requirements and one can appy for it when he/she is healthy with no illness. I am pretty you dad got Medicare, not Emergency Medicaid, unless he was also in an emergency and Emergency Medicaid is what he applied for.
