Medical bill

Thank you so much for good suggestions. Regarding the medical bill, it's said that the first $8000 should be paid by our own insurance company. The part of our medical bill that is more than $8000 will be paid by Metlife. I don't know why. So I'm worrying that my insurance company will increase my monthly insurance, even if that driver is at fault.

Is there anyone knows this? Thanks.
