treaty or standard deduction??

I'm on academic H1 and my hu*****and is H4. We're filing jointly 1040+8833. After reading posts downstairs, I'm confused. If I claim treaty benefits on my wage, could I still apply standard deduction and exemption to my other incomes? Your inputs will be highly appreciated.
