Social Security retirement benefits 是monthly benenfits; 沒有lump sum payment除非人去世後可拿150美元安葬費。

您父母可以居住國外，照樣拿每月的retiremnt benefits. 但您的父母不能住在國外拿SSI (supplemental security income)，因為SSI是聯邦政府的welfare payment; your parents would become inelegible if they live overseas.
