請教填稅FORM 8843

8843上有個內容很讓我困惑，希望有經驗的人士能幫幫我。
:"Were you present in the United States
as a teacher, trainee, or student for any part of 2 of the 6 prior
calendar years(1997 through 2002)" ......If you checked the "yes" box
on line 8, you cannot exclude days of presence as a teacher or
trainee unless you meet the Exception explained on page 3.

這是什麽意思呀？我是2001年9月來的美國，一直做POSTDOC，今年10月剛換了H1，但也在學校。我該回答YES還是NO. 若回答YES，我就不符號EXCLUDE DAYS OF PRESENCE的條件了嗎？
