I've never seen anyone win such a case, unless you are so lucky that the police officer fails to show up at the court on the trail date.

You will receive a letter from your local court. It will show you the amount of penalty. Just pay the fine and attend a traffic school (recommend you to go to an online traffic school such as www.gototrafficschool.com) to keep your DMV record clean. I recently paid a fine of $351 for failure to make a complete stop at red light before making a right turn. Hopefully your fine will be lower than mine.
