younger sister was arrested due to shoplifting

The shoplifting amount is about $30. she talked with me, she realized that it is silly and she wont do it again.
Just curious will that affect her future? in which way?
If it will help, I would like to hire a lawyer for her and I would like to pay the fee for her since she just gratuated from school. So sad! Ruined herself in such a silly and easy way. I don't want to say more.
Any help from folks will be appreciated!
Will that affect her green card application and H-iB application?
