Do you mean before filing dealine this year(2006?) I applied

for taxpayer IDs for them during their first visit in 1999 but never used them. I went to a tax filing free help(students from university) and they said even though they stayed over 6 months that time but they didn't have green cards so they couldn't be claimed as dependents. However, we got green cards in 2001. Do you think it might be because we weren't RA in 1999 so we couldn't qualify for it? Thanks a lot for your help.
