It's a very popular fraud

Some pretend they are in England or another country. They need to rent a place and the employer will pay them but the boss will only send a check to the landlord. Then the landlord has to cash it and send the remaining to the employee. I wonder how you could fall for it. Report it to the police, they may be able to find who sent out the emails and trace them back. Good luck.
