Different material

The lense in China is made of optical glass. In USA, everybody is driving, and every car is equipped with airbags. So for safety reason, all the lenses are actually made of special kind of plastic. The index of the plastic is not the same as that of optical glass. This makes the normal plastic lense pretty thick. Even the high index lense is still thick compared to the optical glass.
