ding and dent scam is not a common term

I googled it and it has only a few references on individual blogs, people like you venting online. You can't persuade anyone (let alone judges or insurance company) that you are taken by this very uncommon (at least by google search) practice.

But it seems give you a sense of cause and mission of crusade, so be my guest prove me wrong. Where are your reference sources of other incidents of this scam?
