No state law requires notarization of a will. You have to follow the state law to find out whether the will is valid. Of course you can argue the notary is your witness. However, most state laws, except VT, require two witnesses who must sign in the presence of the testator.

Formality is everything in wills. Try to follow the state law or find an attorney.
