Strange Citation

I drove 72 mph in 55 mph zone. When I saw the speed limit sign, I gradually slowed down when passing a police officer who was driving in the same direction. He gave me a citation with charge of misdemeanor(s) or infraction(s) when he told me it is not a good idea to pass police car.

The citation is very unusually because I have to go to court. What should I do?
