Our shipment freight charge

My family just moved to US from Singapore. We hired A company to pack and ship our shipment to US. A company passed our shipment to B shipping company to ship our shipment to US. And C company in US take charge to ship our shipment to our US home.

We paid A company all Door-to-Door freight charge in Singapore. But A company has not paid the freight charge to B company. B company has asked C company to hold our shipment to force us to go back to Singapore to sue A company and get back the freight charge and pay B company. We are informed that we have to pay the storage fee incurred in New York.
Should we be responsible for A company’s fault?

Any law we can take to ask C company’s responsibility?
