Dear Debi Vis:
I have a contractor came to my place yesterday. His trunk parked in front my house temporarily, not on the fire lane, not blocking any road or others' driveway. While he is in my place, I have my garage door open, which clearly indicated there were people in the house.
Then, came this towing truck trying to tow my contractor's car away. After stopping him, he asked $175.00 or $299.00 tomorrow. After police came, he reduced the asking to $87.00. He said it was you who authorized him to do so.
My questions are:
1) What are the parking rules for our community?
2) What kind of authorization you gave the towing company? Can they tow whenever violation happens? Or they have to be asked by community member? Before towing/or anybody asking to tow a car away, any effort should be taken to contact the car owner? Please show me the rules regarding towing procedures and authorization privilege.
Thanks,
xkk
