Visiting parents had to go to ER room and medical bill is over $

Visiting parents had to go to ER room and medical bill is over $2,000.  I was told by the person from hospital that we can apply for financial assistance for them, which may cover partial or all of the bill.  I wonder if this will affect their future visa application. Anyone know about this, please advise. Thanks a lot.
