Mother's milk will naturally satisfy your baby's thirst. He doesn't usually nedd to drink water. Mother's milk contains plenty of water at the beginning of every feeding. After a feww minutes, the amount of fat and protein increases.

Babies that are fed commercial infant formula may become thirsty between bottles. They may cry because they want water. Ababy needs more water in warm weather, or when he has diarrhea or a fever. In the first 4 to 6 months, it's better to encourage his appetite by not giving water in the hour before feeding.
