Personally I don't think it is wise to shout at a kid in public

Although the public could be very small including only several relatives.

What i will do if my kid is grumpy in front of other friends is just to simply tell him 'stop'. If he does nit, just leave him as he is,

There is no point to educate your own kid in front of others, whoever he/she is.
