Thanks for your reply. Yes, we got our visa from HongKong, but different time. My hu*****and and my daughter were earlier than me.

So we cannot apply for a change of status in USA.But last time I saw someone in this BBS said she/he changed her/his status from J1 to F1 without a waiver by the help of lawyer.

Then how about if we change our stauts by going back to China or the Third Country without a waiver? You know my hu*****and's visa just is 4 months long, we cannot get a no object letter from China govenment and the time is also not enough to waiver application.
