This happens a lot. Very common. It is very hard to predict how long your hu*****and has to wait. CIS treats cases like yours as each one application is an individual case. They may need more time to clear your hu*****and's background, name check, etc. So just be patient. If your hu*****and has no problem with the past, do not need to worry. His GC will be approved. But be careful, if he works now, he needs to remember to renew his EAD every year till his GC approved. Same thing with his AP. If he travels with you, he needs a valid AP. AP is good only for one year also. Need to renew every year.
