I think it's OK. USCIS would not give you EAD receipt without a valid I-485 application. Also, you should be able tract you I-485 case number from info. on the check. I had similar experience. I-140/I-485 concurrent file, only got I-485 receipt. My lawyer helped me to locate my I-140 case number. Also, my lawyer said USCIS would not accept my I-485 application without a valid I-140 application. Do not worry too much. If you hired a lawyer with I-485 application, you can ask him/her help you to locate I-485 case. Good luck!
