the paper number is not the only thing for NIW, many people did not have paper but they still got GC easily, you know why? that is the cover letter, you have to know how to sell yourself, your work (research) will benefit the US. this is the most important thing for NIW, two papers for you just is enough, don't talk about other people's paper, everybody has his/her way and his/her advantages in GC application, forget about it. Believe yourself.
