I suggested that you change your job title from postdoc to research associate. Having said that, I don't
understand why USCIS requires you have a permanent job.
There should be no job requirement for NIW. But
if USCIS request, you probably have to ask your boss
even dept. chair to provide a letter saying you have
offered a job Research Associate and you are expected
to be employed by them permanently (or indefinitely).
