回複：h1 traveling while visa extens

based on this memo, it should be OK to travel while EXTENSION pending.
however, when I called INS to verify this, the offier said if you travel abroad while extension pending then the application is considered abandoned. My lawyer said the people from INS knows nothing. However this made me very uncomfortable.
Also, if you current H1 is very close to expiration, the people work at Port of entry may ask you to wait outside of USA for the new H1 approval.
Anyway, it SHOULD be ok for you to travel now but sometimes the INS people don't know their own rules.
