Can I still apply for OPT?

I applied for I485's EAD in Aug. It's pending. I will graduate in Dec. I want to keep my F-1 status. Can I apply for OPT?
If I can, how can I deal with the 485's EAD? Cancel it or just don't use it? Is there any bad effect if I apply two EADs?
