No sure about F1.
F is a non imm visa. Once submitted 485, the F is invalid. You are under the 485 pending cat.
When travel with AP, you will be asked for proof for your 485 application, AP is a befinit for 485 pending case.
When leaving US, surrender your I94, you will have a new I94 when come back. The new I94 will marked with your A# and parole date, no more DS for F visa.
