Who may appeal NIW?

My NIW was denied by Verment Center recently. I am doing to appeal. I found a question about "petitioner" from USCIS website. It is said:"Only the person that submitted the original application or petition may file the appeal. The petitionrt alone has standing to appeal the denial of a visa petition.The beneficiary of a visa petition may not appeal the decision"

On the denial letter, I am the beneficiary. My lawyer submitted all my documents on my behalf.Am I qualified for appeal? If you have such kind of experience, would you please help me? Thank you very much.
