Will I be out of status?

Currently I am F1. I submitted H4 application last Oct. School begins this week. Just wondering if I don't register within the specific time, will I lose my status? One of my school international adviser told me as long as I submitted my application, I will ok even if I don't register. But the other one said that I have to register, otherwise, she will report to SEVIS. Thanks in advance!
