Change job while I485 pending?

I filed I140/I485 two years ago. Now the I140(NIW) has been approved but I485 is still pending. I now work for an university as a research associate and is thinking of moving to a company as a project engineer in a similar academic field. Will this have any effect on the I485 approval? I know there is a requirement that the new job should be in the same or similar "occupational classification" as my current job. Do you think the two jobs are in similar occupational classification?
