visa in Toronto

Sorry I am not familiar with Canadian PR stuff. Have no idea about your question.

We just got a regular 2 entries visa from there quite a while ago.

I know for Canadian PR, you don't need an appointment. But for us, back then, we had to show them our appointment letter, otherwise the security guy wouldn't let us go in. So I think you don't have to show them your bank statement or something. If you are not sure, carry them with you just in case.

My question to you, if you don't live in Canada, why do you always need a valid H1 visa stamp in your passport? Your valid I797 will keep you legal in U.S.
