communist party members are treated very seriously by INS (treated like Natzs) and bared for adjustment unless you can prove that you did not voluntarily became a party member(i.e. you were forced or it's part of the requirement of the job) or certain years (10 years? i don't remember exactly) has passed since you quit the party
