現在在學校做博後，1月剛拿到H1b, 但是要換地方了，新的工作不支持H1b， 隻能申
請J-1。
請問H1b怎麽轉成J-1？必須要回國重新簽證嗎？
-You can change your H-1b status to J-1 within US by filing I-539. You need to talk to the International Student Office in the new school which issue you DS 2019 for help.

By the way, if you change status to J-1, you will need to get the J-1 waiver or go back to China for two years if you want to apply for H-1b again or apply for green card in the future.
