Canadian background check?

Hello there,

I got second letter last month, which asked me to update my previous and present work experience and present living address. However, I provided such information when I submitted my application. Does this mean I will have a background check? If you have any ideas about this, please share. Thanks for your help.(Also I got medical form in second letter and I was asked to provide the bank statement).
