 Last year, there was a person in this forum asked similar question. She had trouble extending her H1b because there was one day gap and USCIS either rejected the petition or require additional document. I don't know what is final result of that case.  I searched the forum and can't find her post any more. Can I ask the University to correct it?
-If you filed H-1 transfer or extension after the old H-1 I-94 expired or after you lost your job even if only one day, your H-1 transfer/extension may not be approved. Obviously, it is not in your case and that is why your H-1 transfer was approved.
