Your wife is out of status for sure.
You should file a new petition of H4, F2 or others depends on your status for her as soon as possible.
Then her fate is in INS officer's hand, if he/she thinks the gap before your filing is resonable, your wife will be fine, otherwise you will be told what to do.

Golden Rule: Never use EAD before I-140 approval unless that's the ONLY chance of struggling.
