我在２００７年通過婚姻拿到臨時綠卡，１年後離了婚。在臨時綠卡２年到期前單方申請永久綠卡得到批準。過去問過有我這種情況被告知應該等到今年綠卡５年時申請入籍，我的問題是,

我應該按照through naturalization,還是按照through marriage申請? (現在丈夫是美國公民,我們共同育有一子)

-You are confused in the definition, and the process of a foreigner to be US citizenship is called "naturalization". If you married a US citzinship and maintained the marriage and also live together for 3 years after you got the green card, you can apply for the US citizenship, otherwise you only can apply for the US citizenship after you got the green card for at least 5 years.

In your case, you can file N-400 to apply for the US citizenship now because you have got your green card for 5 years and this is irrelevant to your marriage anymore.
