Question on H1B Extension after 6 years

My current H1B (2nd 3-year period) is going to expire shortly. My situation is: EB1 I-140 was filed a month ago and got approved two weeks ago, I-485 and EAD/AP applications were just filed to USCIS. The question is: Can I file a H1B extension application? If so,a 1-year or 3-year extension? If not, do I have to stop working and wait for EAD approval to continue work after my current H1B expires?
