Legal fee $1500, filing fee $1070.

I don't want to pay $1,500 legal fee. I DIY my own H1B application. 485 is a easy process compared with H1B.

However, what is my risk?

-No. Irrelevant.

I do need to wait for my hu*****and's 485 receipt to file my 485.

-Yes if you will not file your I-485 concurrently with your spouse's I-485 filing.
