我是主申請人。我和我妻子都是h1b。我們12月可以遞485申請。律師應該可以在下個星期提交485。我妻子的H1b十二月底到期，不能延期。我的問題是

（1）在提交485後，需要給我妻子辦理h4嗎？

如果485的收據來的比我妻子h1b到期晚，而又沒有辦h4，她的身份是不是合法？

-Fine as long as her I-485 is mailed out 3 to 4 days before her I-94 expires.

（2）辦理h4是不是一種更安全的選擇？還是辦不辦都一樣？

-Does not matter. As long as you keep your H1 valid, she can apply for the H4 visa outside US to come back to get the H4 status if her I-485 is denied. She can apply for the AP for travel and EAD to work during the I-485 pending.
