We moved multiple times after filing immigration petition for my parents. We updated the address with USCIS, but never with the US consulate at GZ. After entering the US on immigration visa, which address will be used to send the green card and SSN card, USCIS or the GZ consulate?
Should I write a letter and have my mom give it to the immigration officer at the aiport, to ask them to use my current address?
-Yes. The address for your mother is still the old address. After your mother enters US, the CBP officer at the port of entry will ask her a few questions including confirming the mailing address. So, your mother should tell the officer your new address so that the green card and the SSN card will be sent to the new address.
also, I don't recall ever filling out a form to request for a SSN.
-Your mother will be asked to fill a SSN application at the port of entry during the inspection to enter US.
Is this something my mom have to ask for upon landing?
-Your mother may ask for Chinese interpreter service at the port of entry if she does not know English well.
