請教

I have PD 5/1/2008. Based on current progress, my case could be current within 1 year. On the other hand, I am considering switch employer. The question is, if I switch employer and restart the whole process, when I get to the point to submit 485, USCIS probably already moves beyond the 5/1/2008 PD. In that case, while my case be current instantly (based on 5/1/2008 date), or I have to re-get in the line - waiting another 5 years?
