Just checked with Company immigration and was told they wanted to wait till they get the original I-140 approval to file for the H-1B 3 year extention. Is that really necessary, or can we use the email notice?
-had better use the paper-notice. but if you do not have time to wait,, just use the email print-out to file the H1 extension before it expires. Then, if USCIS send you RFE for the paper-notice, just send it later. But in my opinion, the email print-out will work as the paper-notice. Anyway, mail your H1 extension out 2 to 3 days in advance before the h1 expires no matter whether you use email print-out or paper-notice.
How long does it take to get the original I-140 approval notice.
-Sometimes may take several weeks. So, don't wait for it.
My online approval shows it was approved yesterday Aug 17.
If we don't get the original approval by Aug 24, are we able to use the I-140 email notice as support for the approved I-140 to file for the 3 year H1B extension?
